Another international lovestory for me to document, I love it! Jorida is from Albania, Chris is from Germany. They met a few years ago in Germany during a business party. Jorida was studying in Germany at that time. They decided to meet up again in Holland and sparks started to fly. They currently live in Sydney, Australia but Amsterdam holds such a special place in their hearts, they decided to have their wedding here. Last weekend they got married in Albania and last Sunday it was time for the Amsterdam wedding. Guests flew in from all over the world to join in the celebrations.
We were blessed with seriously amazing Summer weather, what a treat! Weddings in Amsterdam are such a blast. Walking around with a bride and groom in Amsterdam gets the most amazing responses from people in the streets. They start singing, clapping and want to have their photo taken with the couple. It's unlike anywhere else in Holland and the vibe it gives, is just plain amazing.
We started the day with some photos of the preparations after which we headed to Hotel Pulitzer for some photos. The ceremony was in the beautiful English church in the Begijnhof. The ceremony itself was simply beautiful aswell. English church ceremonies always remind me of Four Weddings and a Funeral (what a great film that was!) and heck, thinking of Hugh Grant is never punishment now is it? ;)
After the ceremony the guests were treated to a wonderful sightseeing tour of Amsterdam by boat. During this time we had our own boat and did the coupleshoot. The remainder of the day took place at Westerliefde in the Westerpark.

Weer een internationale lovestory om vast te leggen voor mij, heerlijk! Jorida komt uit Albanie, Chris uit Duitsland. Ze leerden elkaar een paar jaar geleden kennen tijdens een bedrijfsfeestje in Duitsland. Jorida studeerde daar op dat moment. Ze besloten elkaar weer te ontmoeten en dit maal in Nederland. De vonk sloeg over. Ze wonen momenteel in Sydney, Australie maar omdat Amsterdam zo'n speciaal plekje in hun hart heeft, kozen ze ervoor om hier te trouwen. Vorig weekend was hun trouwdag in Albanie en afgelopen zondag wsa het tijd voor de bruiloft in Amsterdam. Gasten vlogen naar Nederland van over de gehele wereld om erbij te zijn.
We boften met waanzinnig mooi zomerweer, wat een traktatie! Bruiloften in Amsterdam zijn zo ontzettend leuk. Wanneer je met een bruidspaar hier rondloopt, krijg je de meest leuke reacties van mensen op straat. Ze beginnen te zingen, te klappen of willen op de foto met het bruidspaar. Het is niet te vergelijken met andere locaties in Nederland en het geeft zo'n heerlijke sfeer aan de dag.
We begonnen de dag met de voorbereidingen waarna we richting Hotel Pulitzer gingen voor een aantal foto's. De ceremonie was in de prachtige Engelse kerk op het Begijnhof. De ceremonie zelf was ook schitterend. Engelse kerkceremonies doen me altijd aan Four Wedding and a Funeral denken (wat een heerlijke film is dat!) en tja, aan Hugh Grant denken, is nooit een straf toch? ;)
Na de ceremonie werden de gasten getrakteerd op een heerlijke rondvaart door de Amsterdamse grachten. Voor ons lag een andere boot klaar zodat wij de reportage van de newlyweds konden maken. De rest van de dag vond plaats in de Westerliefde in het Westerpark.
Jori en Chris, wat een geweldige dag! We hebben het ontzettend leuk met jullie gehad en vonden het geweldig deel uit te mogen maken van jullie dag door het vast te leggen voor jullie.
